Label: Nu Electro
Release Date: 25th October 2010
Genre: DnB, Techno, Electro
Cat Number: ELC007

With a keen eye for brand new talent, John B wasted no time in snapping up the Russian young gun and general wunderkind Gmozorov to create a trio of off-the-wall electro-influenced pieces for John’s Nu Electro imprint.

‘Internet=Hate’ puts the 80s into the ring with the present day and lets them fight it out. Urgent synths clash with electric guitars and snappy snares in combination with trancey stabs and an ongoing commentary on the mad obsession we have with the internet, in particular the music industry.

‘Pleasure Generator’ is drum & bass in BPM only. In this x-rated piece of audio geek porn, robots get naughty and give each other a sexually charged explicit electro workout. ‘Miami 1986’ brings the tempo down to an even 130bpm for a more straight-up electro mover. Distorted, atmospheric 80s synths dream of Miami, while the chugging bassline is all vice. Would be as at home in an Erol Alkan set as Sonny Crockett’s car stereo.

Nu Electro is run by John B, one of the most eclectic and unique individuals within electronic music today. Renowned for his expansive DJ sets and globetrotting lifestyle, the best way to describe John is to expect the unexpected!

John B’s Beta Recordings label follows up its recent return with a new single from High Rankin.

High Rankin‘s music is a celebration of eccentricity. Brimming with character and personality, Rankin’s tunes never fail to raise the bar musically and always cause an inevitable dance floor riot.

‘State Pump’ arrives with a collective mix of beats, each one eager to stamp its mark. Beginning on a fairly mellow note Rankin introduces an echoing rhythmic melody before unleashing an onslaught of rough beats that engulf the ears! The bouncing electro beat drives the track giving it a real jump up rock and rave vibe that makes it a tune that will be hard to forget!

‘Feel for You’ delivers Rankin’s trademark dubstep and it is especially relentless in this new single. The pitched up vocals recall early 90s hardcore and interject throughout to create hard hitting build ups that are almost grime like in their raw energy.

Genre: DnB, Techno, Electro
Cat Number: ELC006

John B’s Nu Electro label makes a welcome return with two new singles from Cube.

This is the Hungarian newcomer’s debut single for John B’s offshoot imprint Nu Electro. The British superproducer continues to nurture new talent in his own image with this latest retro electro offering.

‘Metrolovers’ has a dnb beat and a quirky, minimal electro synth that makes it infectiously catchy. With an Eastern European accent, the vocals deadpan over the top, “The people who ride the underworld/they are the metrolovers”, giving the track a new wave punk disco flavour that will have dance floors popping everywhere.

‘Night Trip’ comes with a slightly heavier vibe; this dark dance floor tune delivers the signature Nu Electro sound, blending drum and bass with retro electroclash vibes. Gritty synths are driven along by a bouncy electro bassline while the melodic build-ups provide a retro rave flavour.

New John B & Beta Recordings Webstore Launched!

We’re proud to announce the launch of our brand new webstore at www.beta-store.com

Thanks to the amazing skills of our new web designer genius Mike @ bozboz.co.uk and Trickartt at www.trickartt.com and a lot of blood, sweat and tears in the Beta Recordings office AND several million hours climbing around in the loft going through all our back catalogue and checking stock levels – we’re finally there!

The new webstore has a much better system for dealing with digital downloads, we sell bundles now too which is great for albums, and we’re planning on putting up some previously unavailable stuff too – like John’s first album, ‘Visions’ and a previously very limited USA only release of ‘Brainstorm’ – plus lots more classics, remastered & remixed – but more on that later.

We’ve also massively improved the shipping system – every item has its weight recorded, so when you check out all you have to do is tell us which country you live in, the webstore works out the total weight of everything you ordered and then calculates the correct shipping, so no more searching for the right shipping option in a huge list, and no more accidental overcharging or any of that rubbish! Lovely!

We’ve got loads of back catalogue up now, (if it’s displayed on the site then we have it in stock!) – and some really cool new stuff coming in time for Christmas too (did someone say JOHN B SNOWGLOBES!? haha!)

So go check out www.beta-store.com right now and bag yourself some electropunkrobotikDrum&Bass – mp3s are only 89p!
